Your objective is to escape the underworld through a series of chambers which are essentially enclosed rooms which spawn enemies, once you defeat all enemies in a chamber you can move onto the next one, usually with a choice of multiple doors leading to a specific upgrade path for your skills. To lessen the blow you do rack up various currencies each time you play which can be spent to upgrade permanent skills and abilities for future attempts making things a little easier each time. The gameplay and combat is much more refined than previous SuperGiant games and upgrades feel powerful if you're lucky enough to get the right ones.īeing a roguelike death results in all your progress being lost and having to start from the beginning again. The art design and colour palette is eye candy to look at, full of bright reds, greens, purples and makes using skills and abilities that much more fun. Hades feels like it took the best parts from the developers previous titles and refined and improved on them further. They definitely share some similarities when it comes to art design and the isometric view point. They also made Bastion and Transistor which were okish games in my opinion. Hades is a hack n slash roguelike from SuperGiant Games. I’ve never played this type of game before but I’ve heard so much about it in the gaming community and I just had to see what the fuss was about so when I seen a physical copy and it being a limited edition physical release I just brought it and took a chance and I must say I understand the hype this is getting now the art work and the graphics are amazing in handhold or docked modes the game play is very entertaining and it becomes quite addictive very quickly the fighting hack and slash style is really good the weapon choice and move choice is great and the story is pretty good to for this sort of game its basically based on Greek mythology I love this game and it’s definitely one of the best games I’ve played on the switch this year I can see my self playing this hour after hour and sinking some serious time into this one i highly recommend it and for a newbie into this type of game this was a great first experience a must have for any switch game collection fast dispatch and delivery too with prime membership Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 March 2021 ![]() One of the best games on switch to date highly recommended ![]() To learn more about how and for what purposes Amazon uses personal information (such as Amazon Store order history), please visit our Privacy Notice. ![]() You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie Preferences, as described in the Cookie Notice.
